The weekend of 16th-18th February saw the JG Speedfit Kawasaki team head to the Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show at ExCel London, as the new Bennetts British Superbike season heads ever closer.

The show saw the unveiling of the new 2018 livery for the Superbike team of Leon Haslam and Luke Mossey, and for the road bike of James Hillier, who will be competing at the International North West 200 and the Isle of Man TT.

During an interview at the show, Leon Haslam spoke about pre-season preparations, “Pre-season has gone really well. We’re in a better place than we were at this stage last year and I’m really looking forward to getting back on the bike in a Spain in a couple of weeks.”

Luke Mossey said, “The tests in November and January have been very positive. The first was about getting myself up to speed again after the crash at Thruxton last year, and January’s was when we had the new bike which was great. The upgrades we have got are definitely going in the right direction. We have a test in Spain at the beginning of March and then we are back in the UK ready for Round 1. Hopefully, we can start the season like last year – straight on the podium and fighting for race wins.”

For James Hillier, preparations for the 2018 season started immediately after the final race of last year. At the show, James said, “I am happy that the BSB preparation is going well as, although the setup of the bikes is different for the roads, some of the new developments that have been tested on the short circuit bikes translate to the roads. I am looking forward to some testing in a few weeks.”

At the show, JG Speedfit Kawasaki also announced that Quattro Plant were returning as sponsors for James Hillier and the 2015 & 2016 British Sidecar Champions, Ricky Stevens and Ryan Charlwood, for the upcoming season.

Pete Extance, Team Principle of JG Speedfit Kawasaki, said “It is good to welcome back on board Quattro Plant as sponsor for 2018. It is a brand we have a long association with and I look forward to delivering success in the British Sidecar Championship with Ricky and Ryan, and for James at the NorthWest 200 and Isle of Man TT.”

The 2018 Bennetts British Superbike Championship featuring JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s Leon Haslam and Luke Mossey kicks off at Donington Park between 31st March and 2nd April.
